FAQ'S

WHAT KIND OF ISSUES CAN THERAPY HELP WITH?

Therapy is useful for a range of problems that an individual may face. For example, anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, fears/phobias, trauma, loss and sometimes for those who feel like they just need a chat!

HOW DOES COUNSELLING AND LIFE COACHING DIFFER?

Counselling explores your previous traumas that impact your current behaviours and takes note of our emotions and actions. Life coaching aims more at looking at our current situation and what steps need to be taken in order to reach the place we want to be.

DO YOU OFFER REDUCED RATES FOR UNEMPLOYED/LOWER INCOME INDIVIDUALS?

I do indeed. Please inform me of your situation if this is the case and I will be more than happy to do what I can.

DO YOU OFFER EVENING APPOINTMENTS FOR THOSE WHO WORK IN THE DAY?

Yes, I offer daytime and evening appointments to fit your schedule.

DO YOU OFFER BLOCK SESSIONS?

Yes, you can book a block of sessions together. This is a good way of keeping yourself committed to therapy and investing in yourself!

IS EVERYTHING IN OUR SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?

In short, yes. There are only a few circumstances in which we will both have to discuss breaching confidentiality. These circumstances can include: being at harm to yourself or others, current abuse and court orders. All which will be covered in your contract.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH TYPE OF THERAPY I NEED?

There are many different kinds of therapy now established and used. On our first session, we will discuss what types of therapy may be more suited to you as a person and also what best fits your aim of therapy after we gain a little more insight.

HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MANY SESSIONS I NEED?

The amount of time one is in therapy is completely dependent on the individual and their situation. Many therapists recommend committing to a block of six sessions and then reviewing the progress with your counsellor to discuss further sessions.
